Create One Main List
Whether you choose to write by hand or type it up on the computer, having one list that has everything you need to get done before moving will make things way easier. If you have to hire someone to help with storage and moving or you need to host a garage sale to get rid of some of your stuff, everything needs to be on this list so you don’t forget anything and your tasks are in one organized place. You can take photos of furniture or electronics that need to be reassembled or take inventory on each box as well for ultimate organization.
Making sure you have all of the necessary immunizations and that you’re in good health is a must before moving to a new country. You should also have all of yours and your families medical records in a safe, easy to access place during the move. Before moving, make sure everyone has enough of their prescriptions and that you have a pharmacy set up in your new location.
Have a Home Base
While you’re putting things in storage and moving your life around, it can get chaotic quickly. Having a place you work on things like checklists or making calls to moving companies like Baymeadows, helps you to keep your stress at bay and have a set station to get things done.
This can be your office, the living room or at a dining room table, anywhere that you feel works best.
Don’t Forget Your Pets
Just like how you have to have the right shots and get a medical checkup before moving internationally, so does Fido. Make sure to take all of your pets to the vet before your move to make sure they are clear to go on the journey.
Get Rid of Stuff
Lastly, get rid of stuff you don’t need or use regularly that doesn’t hold meaning to you. Sell it, donate it or throw it out. Moving internationally can be expensive and you don’t want to be paying to move stuff you don’t want around.
Don’t be afraid to give Baymeadows a call at 904-737-3530 if you have any questions before your next move!
