Baymeadows Movers Volunteers Resources and Time in Support of Team Haiti
Over 300,000 people died from the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Businesses, homes, and infrastructure were simultaneously destroyed by the magnitude of the quake. It was one of the worst natural disasters in history. After the quake, people from around the world donated their time and effort to support the Haitians.
Team Haiti was one of them.
A mission operated by the Southpoint Community Church, Team Haiti has been traveling to Carries, Haiti ever since the earthquake occurred. Bringing building materials, food, toiletries, and uniforms to the village, the mission’s goal is to revitalize the community and provide everyday necessities to the villagers. Since the 2010 earthquake, Team Haiti has built a local church, school, community bathroom, 12 houses, an elderly home, and more. Long-term reading programs and sponsorships ensure that villages get proper education and housing.
With all of those materials being sent to Haiti every year, however, it can be hard moving and preparing them for transport.
That’s where Baymeadows Movers comes in.
Baymeadows Movers has been a staple in the community since 1996. We feel strongly about serving it and helping when we can. We support Team Haiti’s cause and when they needed help, we were happy to provide it! Our amazing team donated their time and expertise to help move items from the church to the airport. We also supplied the truck used to transport the materials.
Even though it’s been over a decade since the earthquake, Haiti still hasn’t fully recovered. People still need food, supplies and building materials. If you would like to support Team Haiti’s cause, please contact Southpoint Community Church. It is only through working together that we will succeed.
